TotalEnergies (Paris) TotalEnergies is a global multi-energy company that is traditionally known for its oil and gas operations. As part of the ongoing energy transformation in France and around the world, TotalEnergies is shifting its business towards renewable energy. The company’s target is to have a gross installed renewable power generation capacity of 100 GW by 2030. They currently have a capacity of 26 GW for renewable electricity. 3. EDF power solutions (Paris) EDF power solutions as of today, was formed in 2025 when EDF Renewables and the EDF Group International Division join forces. The company is a French developer that shares the goal of the energy transition. In addition to using the latest technologies, EDF power solutions is implementing numerous renewable energy projects, particularly in the fields of wind, solar energy and energy storage. To maximise the use of natural resources in energy production, the Paris-based developer has developed renewable energy projects with a total capacity of more than 13GW. In addition, the developer aims to achieve 10 GW of energy storage capacity by 2030. 4. Neoen (Paris) Neoen is one of the world’s leading independent renewable energy producers. The company is owned by Brookfield Renewable Holdings, one of the world’s largest publicly traded platforms for renewable power and decarbonisation solutions. To date, Neoen has 8.9 GW of renewable energy in operation or under construction, and it aims to exceed 10 GW by 2025. 5. Voltalia (Paris) French developer Voltalia has a portfolio of renewable energy projects in 20 countries. The Paris-based developer has realised various types of renewable energy, such as solar farms, wind farms, hydroelectric and biomass projects. Voltalia is also one of the world’s largest independent power producers. The company is involved in all stages of the value chain. The implementation of its renewable energy projects is increasingly characterised by the values of ingenuity, integrity, entrepreneurship and team spirit. Voltalia reached its target of 2.6 GW of capacity (installed or under construction) at the beginning of January 2023, one year ahead of schedule. Voltalia has now reached 2.45 GW of installed renewable energy in operation. Developers of renewable energy in France As a signatory to the Paris Agreement, France is committed to fighting climate change. One of the most important starting points is the transformation of the electricity market. The development and promotion of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydro, biomass and geothermal are essential to meet the growing demand for electricity in the future without further damaging the environment.
